Picture shows our group as it stood in 2009

Lulworth First Responders was launched on 1st April 2006 by Dorset Ambulance, but was soon taken over by South Western Ambulance Service when Dorset Ambulance Service was amalgamated with the West Country Ambulance Service. We cover a 6 minute radius of West Lulworth, which includes areas such as Durdle Door, Coombe Keynes and East Lulworth, although we sometimes work further afield.

Since we started we have been called to over 400 possible life threatening incidents. In 2007 we were given a Rav 4 by the Sam Chalmers Foundation to assist us with our calls. This replaced an old Nissan Primera which we found could not get us to certain places along the coast. The Ambulance Trust supplies us with all our medical kit and Finleys Café very kindly fuel our vehicle, but we have to keep the vehicle roadworthy, from donations and the occasional event we are able to keep our vehicle running and purchase the little extras that we need as a group. We recently purchased 2 Ambulance helmets for use when working with helicopters or working on the beaches in our area.
