August tends to be our busiest month of the year, we are nearly half way through the month and have kept reasonably busy this year, a lot of our calls can be weather related, but not directly, it's just people tend to be more adventurus when it's such a lovely day as our call proved today. Our patient was on the path near the top of Hambury Tout which is one of the two main hills which surround our village of West Lulworth. A normal ambulance cannot get any closer than either the main car park at Lulworth or Durdle Door car park. Our 4x4 is very useful to access to the coast path on Hambury Tout. We collected the crew and took them and their equipment direct to the patient on the path where the views are amazing.

It was decided that the best option was to move the patient off of the path in our 4x4, the path is wide enough for our vehicle in places.

We collected the patient along with a paramedic from the air crew and transferred them back up the path and to the Air Ambulance which had landed by the Tout.

The patient was then transferred to a stretcher from the Air Ambulance and then placed on board the helo, before being airlifted to hospital.

Another good job by all concerned.
